Mr
Kenneth Challinor
Council member Kenneth Challinor
was born in Cheshire, attending Sandbach School and, after National
Service in the RAF, Chester College where he qualified as a teacher.
He subsequently gained an advanced Diploma in Education at Birmingham
University and an MA in Educational Research at Lancaster University.
He taught English and Physical
Education at secondary schools in Worcestershire before becoming
a principal Lecturer in Education at Matlock College of Education.
He was appointed Principal of Dartford College of Education in 1976.
His association with the ISTD
began at this time through his becoming a Governor of the London
College of Dance and Drama, Dartford College at that time providing
a course for London College students leading to qualified teacher
status.
Mr Challinor is proud to have
been the Chairman of the Governing Body of London College, and he
has been very pleased to continue to contribute to the work of the
ISTD as a member of Council.
