Mr Martin Simmonds

Martin Simmonds is a Life Member of the ISTD, having turned professional in 1955 when he qualified in all Dance Sport Faculties. Having been a champion in Classical Sequence, giving demonstrations, exhibitions and numerous television appearances, Martin Simmonds was elected to the Sequence Faculty in 1964, and has currently served on the Committee for 36 years holding the positions of Vice-Chairman for ten years, and Chairman for the past 12 years.

Martin Simmonds began examining in 1966, and subsequently became the ISTD's first triple Dance Sport Examiner. Throughout his teaching career, Mr Simmonds has trained many professionals for the ISTD qualifications in all Faculties. In 1996, Martin Simmonds was awarded the Imperial Award for outstanding services to the Society.
