Blitz
Monday
30th August 2004 saw the Ballroom Blitz at the South Bank
presented by Peggy Spencer MBE and Nicky Miles.
It
was a fantastic day and evening. Some people say Ballroom
Dancing is dying out; it’s not true as you would have
seen if you were lucky enough to attend the Ballroom Blitz.
There was a touch of sadness when Hazel Newberry and Christopher
Hawkins announced their retirement from competing and did
their last demonstration together. We wish them the very best
for the future.
Also
Peggy Spencer MBE announced her retirement from hosting the
Ballroom Blitz and handed over this responsibility to Nicky
Miles. We all wish Peggy the very best for the future. It
was the last Ballroom Blitz for 3 years as the South Bank
is being refurbished. So watch this space and we will inform
you when the next Ballroom Blitz will take place. It is sure
to be a continued success in the capable hands of Nicky.
