Catherine Hutchon
Catherine began her Cecchetti training with Rita Emmerson and Laura Wilson and then attended the London College of Dance and Drama studying with Jocelyn Mather. She gained a B.Ed Honours Degree from the University of Sussex and was appointed as Advisory Teacher for Dance with Leicestershire Education Authority.
For 25 years she has led a team of dance specialists in ballet, contemporary and South Asian Dance, developing In-service training for teachers and delivering a Youth Dance/Ballet training and performance programme
Currently as Head of Performance/Deputy Manager for Leicestershire and Leicester Arts in Education (the Arts Service for the LAs), she is responsible for directing a broad arts performance programme for schools and young people and for Dance Activate, an innovative scheme to introduce primary school children, especially boys, to ballet.
Catherine is a Fellow and Examiner and has served on the Cecchetti Society Faculty Committee since 2005.
