Elisabeth Swan
Elisabeth
undertook her early training at the Weston Schools of
Dancing in Essex, of which she became Principal in 1988,
and which she owns in partnership with her husband,
Geoff Wheatley. She trained for two years at the Royal
Ballet School, receiving tuition from Nora Roche, and
went on to study with Helen Wolska, Nesta Brooking,
Victoria Chappell, Eileen Langman and, latterly, with
Mary-Jane Duckworth and Gillian Dawson. She dancing
extensively throughout the UK and appeared on both television
and film.
She
has taught and choreographed for the Cecchetti Society
Scholars and in 1995 was awarded the Margaret Marsh
Scholarship to attend the annual Summer Seminar of the
Cecchetti Council of America in Michigan, USA. Elisabeth
holds the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma and is also member
of the ISTD Theatre Faculty Board in addition to the
Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty Committee.
She is a Graded, Vocational and Qualifying Examiner
for the ISTD (Cecchetti), Regional organiser for the
Cecchetti Society Faculty and organiser of the annual
Teachers' Summer School in Chichester.
