Children's Examinations
Although Cecchetti himself taught professional dancers, his wife and later some of his former pupils adapted his work to be suitable for training children in Classical Ballet. The syllabus is continually revised and updated, providing a comprehensive training method from the small child through to the professional dancer.

General Graded Examinations and
Class Examinations

The children's work is divided into these two parallel schemes. Grade examinations are undertaken by those taking their training more seriously and are more technically demanding. Class examinations progress in parallel and candidates are assessed on their 'dance quality', enjoyment and musicality with less emphasis on technical achievement. These examinations are taken as a 'class' group, with the teachers conducting the work.

Performance Awards
These are short examinations, linked to the above syllabi, and are judged with the emphasis again on performance and musicality. Successful candidates receive a medal and a certificate.

The Intermediate and Advanced examinations can be taken in either of two categories:
A) As a dancer, or
