| Licentiate
Day
Licentiate Day was on Wednesday 7th April 2004.
We
began the day with an intensive and comprehensive look at
the Advanced One syllabus and concentrated on the additional
barre. Cara Drower is always careful to try and comply with
any special requests so three and a half hours later we broke
for lunch having either danced or discussed all the girls’
work and the boys’ work too! We all agreed that we had
had a very useful morning and our memories had been well and
truly shaken up.
Elisabeth
Swan and Linda Young provided some delightful students for
potential Licentiate candidates to practice on in the afternoon.
The class began at Grade 6 level and Cara encouraged as many
of us as possible to take turns with the group showing our
own and set exercises. It is such a help to have students
there and we are very grateful to them for giving up time
in their holidays, and to their parents and teachers for bringing
them along.
The
day ended with our ideas for enchainements. Thanks to the
wonderful Pam Peters, whose truly inspirational music makes
dancing such a joy, some amazing steps appeared in a very
short space of time.
I
am sure we all went home on Wednesday with a nice glow of
achievement. In spite of all the changes we shall be facing
in the next few months. I do hope these courses will not change.
