Summer Schools details

Where is the summer school?

The summer school is held every year at the University of Chichester in West Sussex. The campus occupies a splendid 38-acre site and is situated within easy walking distance of Chichester city centre. Chichester is renowned both historically and culturally with its original buildings blending with more modern architecture.

Accommodation for the summer school is located on the campus itself and consists of single rooms with a choice of en-suite or shared facilities. Secure car parking is available on site.  Please note a pre-booked pass is required.

Who can attend?

The summer schools focus on different areas of training and are suitable for teachers and student teachers wishing to learn, consolidate or refresh their knowledge as part of their continuous professional development.  Applications to attend the summer school are taken on a case by case basis. If you do not hold an FDI, DDI or Associate, please enclose a copy of your CV and a letter of reference from your teacher with your application form.

What happens?

During the summer school attendees will have the opportunity to cover a variety of self selected classes. Guidance will be available at the welcome meeting for those who would like to design a structured programme of study around a particular aspect of development. The summer school is delivered by highly regarded and inspirational lecturers. Please note that lecturers are subject to change.
