Suzanne
Hammond

Suzanne
is a Fellow and Examiner of the ISTD. She began dancing
at Vernon Johnson School of Dance and Drama in Liverpool
then went on to train professionally at Merseyside Dance
and Drama Centre for 3 years.
After performing worldwide for 7 years she embarked
on a new career in teaching. Suzanne taught at numerous
establishments all over the uk prior to opening her
own school in 1999 on Merseyside, where she taught:
Ballet, Tap, Modern, National, Ballroom, Latin American,
Disco, Rock‘n’Roll and Salsa. In 2003 she
relocated to the south of England.
During 2004 she was invited to teach at the Beijing
Sports Dance Academy where she introduced Ballet and
Salsa to the syllabus. In this year she became a member
of the Club Dance Faculty being involved in the writing
of the new Lindy Hop Syllabus.
2005 saw Suzanne become a member of the Disco Freestyle
Faculty. After a continuance of freelance work she went
on to open The Hammond Academy of Performing Arts in
Bournemouth where she is now based.
This year Suzanne will be celebrating 21 years of teaching
and is looking forward to the next 21!
