The ISTD offers a myriad of courses for members and non-members to support their professional development. These range from genre specific refresher days to residential summer schools to one day courses focussing on the promotion of safe dance practice and the psychological aspects of talent development.
The Education & Training Department also offer training for Tutors working on the accredited teaching qualifications programme as well as masterclasses for students, dancers, in conjunction with faculties, and training for members of the public to introduce them to the world of dance. Teachers' and student teachers' course providing guidance for those wishing to enter students for the Grades 4, 5 & 6 examinations. The aim of the course is to help ISTD teachers gain a greater understanding of how to work with young people with disabilities. Led by Stopgap, the course will address the issues of disabled students in class and will provide you with practical ways of making your practice more inclusive

This one day Emergency First Aid training course is offered by the ISTD in conjunction with our external providers. The course is specially created for dance teachers and provides delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to act safely and calmly in emergency situations.
