Entry Specification, Rules & Awards
Eligibility
The Awards have 3 classes of entry:
Age is the candidate’s age at the 1st September 2011. Restriction of only 8 entries per school.
There will be a max total number of 150 entries that will not be exceeded. No set work required.
Junior Class: Ages 10 -12 years
Dances must be 1:30secs – 2mins maximum.
Senior Class: Ages 13-14 years
Dances must be 1:30secs – 2mins maximum
Premier Class: Age 15 years and over
Dances must be 1:30secs – 2mins maximum.
Entry: Please complete and send the entry form with a cheque for £15 per entry to arrive by the closing date of 20th February 2012 OR a completed entry form can be emailed to mdtapawards@btinternet.com and payment can be made by bank transfer.
Please check the spelling of the pupil's name and write clearly in capitals. This helps us to produce an accurate programme. No alterations to the entries can be made once they have been received. Make your cheque payable to: MD Tap Awards (not ISTD).
The organising committee reserve the right to return entries if the competition is becoming oversubscribed and to refuse late entries.
Admission
Spectators will be admitted by ticket purchase: full day is £12 or £8 concs, Juniors (am) is £8 or £5 concs, and Senior & Permier dances (pm) is £8 or £5 concs. Competitors will need to sign in, and can watch other sections if space is available.
Costume
Jingle taps are not permitted and costumes should not be significantly altered for dance solos.
The winners of each section both male and female will not be permitted to re-enter in the same section subsequently.

Runner Up Prize - Awarded in each section
Moyra Gay Class Prize - For work shown in the given class (Junior, Senior & Premier)
Gwen Carter Choreographic Prize - For the most creative & original dance
Murielle Ashcroft Award for Artistry
Daphne Peterson Premier Award
Victor Leopold Cup (Junior Boy)
Victor Leopold Cup (Senior Boy)
Betty Laine Award for Premier Boys
All entrants will receive a certificate.
All awards are held for one year and Cups must be returned to the Faculty organiser prior to the next award date.
