RUBY GINNER AWARDS
 
COMPETITION FORMAT
 
 
  • Each Class will be taught and adjudicated separately.
  • Candidates must enter classes according to the certificate they hold at the closing date (see conditions of entry below).
  • Each Class will be taught a technique class which will include a directed Nature Rhythm.
  • The Musical Interpretation will then follow to a piece of music selected by the pianist (this will be different a piece for each class) and played for all to hear. The class will then improvise to the music in groups, together but as individuals.
  • The entrants will then perform their choice of Set Sequence in 2’s or 3’s except the Premier entrants who may be requested to dance solo.
  •  A class winner and runner(s) up and musicality winner and runner(s) up will be given as well as highly commended and commended certificates. This will be the same for each class.
 
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
 
Class A  10 years and under
Candidates must hold the Primary or Grade 1 Certificate.
Choice of Grade 1 Original or Alternative Step Sequence.
 
Class B  11 years and under
Candidates must holdthe Grade 2 certificate.
Choice of Grade 2 Original or Alternative Step Sequence, Grade 2 Boys Sequence or Bronze  Dance Sequence.
 
Class C  12 years and under
Candidates must hold the Grade 3 or Bronze  Medal Certificate.
Choice of Grade 3 Original or Alternative Step Sequence, Bronze or Silver Dance Sequence.
 
Class D  14 years and under
Candidates musthold the Grade 4 or Silver Medal Certificate.
Choice of Grade 4 Original or Alternative Step Sequence, Grade 4 Boys Step Sequence, Bronze or Silver Dance Sequence.
 
Class E 16 years and under
Candidates must hold the Grade 5 or Gold Medal Certificate.
Choice of Grade 5 Original or Alternative Step Sequence or Gold Medal Dance Sequence.
 
Class F 16 years and under
Candidates must hold the Grade 6 or Intermediate Foundation Certificate.
Choice of Grade 6 Sequence for Lyrical Co-ordination , Intermediate Foundation Dance Sequence, Intermediate Foundation Boys Step Sequence or Gold Medal Dance Sequence.
 
Class G  18 years and under
Candidates must hold the Intermediate, Advanced 1, Advanced 2 or Gold Star Certificate
Choice of one of the 4 Intermediate Dance Sequences, Boys Intermediate or Advanced 1 Step Sequence or the Gold Star Dance Sequence.
