11.30am Registration and tea / coffee
12.00pm Introduction by Dr Geetha Upadhyaya - Kala Sangam
12.10pm Sujata Banerjee - welcome by the Chair and an introduction to the ISTD and its South Asian Dance Faculty
12.30pm ISTD South Asian Dance syllabi - a general introduction and brief notes on its rational
1.00pm Health & Safety / Body Conditioning workshop, covering Grades 1 – 4 of Kathak and Bharatanatyam and discussing with teachers ideas on how to fulfil the requirements of this aspect of the syllabus
2.00pm Lunch
2.45pm Skill sharing and discussion on syllabus content, including recent syllabus revisions
3.45pm Talk on the value of ISTD qualifications in relation to mainstream education as well as the new proposed conversion route to a degree
4pm Presentations of exam material as follows:
- Primary mock exam of students of Swati Raut
- Grade Three Kathak mock exam of students of Nilima Devi
- Grade Four Bharatanatyam mock exam of students of Swati Raut
- Presentation of vocational level material in performance style by students of Nina Rajarani (Bharatanatyam) and Sujata Banerjee (Kathak)

Attendance fees for teachers is £15.

The Centre for Advanced Training for South Asian and Contemporary Dance (CAT), would like to invite South Asian Dance Teachers to a CAT presentation at the ISTD Teachers’ Forum on Sunday 26th February at Kala Sangam in Bradford.
The presentation will be about how CAT works in collaboration with local dance teachers who are called ‘Home Tutors’ and will also focus on CAT Talent Identification and auditions for the 2012 term.
Travel bursaries of £50 each is available from CAT to teachers who want to attend the ISTD Teachers’ Forum. Only 10 bursaries are available and will be offered on a first come first serve basis! Please note, CAT is unable to offer travel bursaries to those teachers who were given bursaries in 2010 for attending the ISTD Teachers’ Forum.
