Elizabeth Harrison

Elizabeth
completed her Classical Ballet studies with Miss Phyllis
Bedells and Tap and Modern qualifications with Janet
Cram and Tom Parry. She also studies Greek Dance with
Joyce Hyde and National with Helen Wingrave and Robert
Harrold.
After working professionally for a short time, she opened
her own school in Watford, Hertfordshire which flourished
for 38 years and catered for children from the age of
3rs to full time students specialising in all aspects
of dance teaching and drama.
Choreographing, adjudicating and lecturing have always
been strong elements throughout her career both in amateur
and professional circles. She has been an examiner for
the ISTD for 40 years to date and served on the National
Dance Faculty Committee for 10 years under the chairmanship
of Mrs Grandison-Clark. She is at present honoured to
have been appointed to the Faculties Committee Board
and elected to the Imperial Ballet Faculty Committee.
Alongside Gillian Farr, she has pioneered the formation
of the regional Teachers Groups around the country to
encourage and promote the work of the Imperial Ballet
Faculty. She is also a Senior Examiner for the National,
Tap and Modern Theatre Faculties. Her time, since relinquishing
the post of Principal of her own school, has been spent
examining and lecturing at home and abroad for the ISTD
and freelance teaching at all levels
