Heather Fish
Heather
trained in Wimbledon with Letty Littlewood and then
at the Royal Ballet School, graduating from the Craftsman's
Course, as the Teacher Training Course was then known.
She then taught at the Hammond School, Chester for 14
years, becoming the Deputy Head of Dance and then at
Bush Davies, East Grinstead, where she was the assistant
to the Ballet Principal, Joyce Percy. Upon the closure
of Bush Davies, Heather taught at Doreen Bird College
and then became a member of the vocational faculty at
Elmhurst. She is now a full time lecturer and examiner
for the ISTD.
Heather has been a part of the Faculty of many Imperial
Ballet courses and others, such as the Gloucester Seminars
and the Royal Academy of Dancing International Summer
Schools, as well as teaching and examining in the UK
and overseas.
Appointed an Imperial Ballet examiner in 1979, Heather
is now the Chairman of the Faculty, which she represents
on the Theatre Faculty Board. She is also a member of
the International Development committee.
She created the new set work for the Advanced 1 syllabus
and was part of the team that restructured the Intermediate
syllabus and created the Intermediate Foundation syllabus.
Heather
was thrilled to receive the Imperial Theatre Award for
2001 and in 2002 completed an MA in Ballet Studies at
Roehampton, University of Surrey.
