Graded Examinations
Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 candidates are only examined
at Centres unless the whole day consists of Vocational
Graded Examinations. Candidates shoud be entered in
pairs. Where an odd number of candidates is involved,

studio is large enough, thereby making a group of three.

Class
Examinations
• Teachers are expected to present the work to
the children in the examination room.
• The order of the syllabus should be reasonably
adhered to.
• Every child must have his/her number pinned
to their dress or leotard.
Pre-Primary,
Primary, Levels 1 & 2
• The time allowed for each test is 25 minutes,
with 5 minutes interval between each set.
• Four candidates are the correct number. If there
are only five entries this may be entered as one set.
If there are six entries, these should be entered in
two sets of three and if there are seven entries, these
should be entered in one set of four and one of three.
Levels
3 & 4
• The time allowed for each test is 35 minutes,
with 5 minutes interval between each set.
• The minimum number of candidates is three, the
ideal number is four, but five is permitted, only if
the total number of
candidates is five.
Levels
5 & 6
• The time allowed for each test is 40 minutes,
with 5 minutes interval between each set.
• The minimum number of candidates is three, the
ideal number is four, but five is permitted, only if
the total number of candidates is five.
• It is optional for either the examiner or the
teacher to conduct these examinations. The teacher decides
and should inform the examiner prior to the session.
Levels
7 & 8
• The maximum number of candidates to enter in
one set is three.
• The time allowance for each set, from 1st September
2003, is 40 minutes with 5 minutes between each set.
• The examiner conducts these examinations.

At All Levels
• The teacher should adapt
the syllabus work for boy candidates.
• Under no circumstances should amateur adult
candidates be entered for an examination in the same
group as the children.
