Sunday 10th October the Imperial Ballet Teachers Group (London)
were privileged to watch Deirdre Chapman, a Royal Ballet soloist,
teach a class of fifteen of their own students.
Miss
Chapman’s encouraging manner, the structure of the class
alongside her elegant and truly classical demonstration was
an inspiration to them all. The highlight of the class for
the girls was to find that when they changed into their pointe
shoes so did their guest teacher, and in consequence they
were able to see at first hand beautiful use of feet.
The
class was sensitively accompanied by Pam Peters. Our thanks
go to Mrs Batchelder and Mrs Sheen for organising the day
and of course to Miss Chapman for sharing her expertise and
artistry with us.
