are they now?
It
is some time now since the Imperial Ballet Faculty videos
were made and many of the children and students who demonstrated
the work have gone on to dance professionally. The Faculty
thought it might be of interest to teachers to learn how their
careers have developed.

Martin
Harvey
Martin danced in the Elementary video (the syllabus we
now know as Intermediate). He had his early training at
the Tanwood School of Dance in Swindon and then went on
to the Royal Ballet School. |
He
joined the Company in 1996 and was promoted to Soloist in
2002. He has danced many roles including the title role in
Onegin, Lescaut in Manon, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Hilarion
in Giselle and the lead male in Tryst. Roles created on him
include There Where She Loves, Between Shadows, Angles and
Exiles, Traces, Brainstate, Night Falls Fast, Frozen, Misty
Frontier and Les Saisons. He has also appeared with Irek Mukhamedov
and Company (1999 - 2001).

Jenney
Jones
Jenny danced in the Primary video when she was 6 years
old and is now 17. She went on to win the Grade 3 Imperial
Ballet Faculty Award in 1999 and danced in the Unicef
video 'Chains' and in the Gala performance at Sadler’s
Wells in 2002. |
You
may also have noticed her on the front cover of the Spring
2004 edition of DANCE Magazine.
She
is continuing her training and has had many examination successes
up to Advanced standard. She hopes to dance professionally
in the future and in the meantime is studying for her A Levels
in Dance, Performing Arts, Media and Spanish.
