American Syllabus Update
Part 1
From time to time changes and additions are made to
the Latin American examinations syllabus to ensure that
work remains current and interesting for teachers and
students alike. Here we highlight these important changes
that apply to both examinations and competitions.
Jive: The Flick Ball Change may be danced as an alternative
to steps 1-2 of the Link at all levels.
Part 2
Syllabus for examinations above the Gold Medal
Each dance in all Latin American examinations above
the Gold Medal must include a minimum of three figures
selected from the list below. The chosen figures should
be included in their entirety as written in the technique
books and may include any developments, as they are
written. One chosen figure must be danced to commence
the choreography and the two remaining figures may follow
from this or be danced elsewhere within the choreography.
Please take into account the time limits of the examination
when devising choreography, ensuring that the Examiner
may assess the requirements above within those limits.
