Elizabeth
Romain's Election to the
USA Hall of Fame
Congratulations
to Elizabeth on her recent election to the World's Dancing Hall of Fame,
USA.
The
Hall of Fame was founded in 1965 by John March of California, and Elizabeth
is justly proud of this great honour bestowed upon her for her dedicated
work over many years on behalf of Ballroom and Latin American dance,
both here and overseas.
Unfortunately,
ill health beset her two years ago, resulting in an enforced and unwilling
retirement from the Chairmanship of the Latin American Faculty, and
until she regained her strength was unable to undergo two urgent hip
operations. However, we are pleased to report she has come safely through
these two operations, the last being in April, and has high hopes that
she will be teaching again by the time you read this.
Elizabeth
would like to take this opportunity of once again thanking all her dear
friends in the Imperial for their good wishes and caring over the past
two years, and hopes to see everyone at the Worthing Congress, in addition
to attending Latin American Faculty meetings in an honorary capacity.
