Mrs
Pamela Eddleston
Pamela
Eddleston is a Fellow and Examiner of the ISTD Modern
Theatre Dance and Imperial Ballet Faculties. She is
also a member of the Modern Theatre Faculty Committee.
Her
early training was with Mollie Mayhew and later Grandison
College before dancing professionally for several years.
Pamela's
first teaching appointment was for Barbara Coales at
the Kilburn Schools of Dancing. On moving to Blackpool,
she opened her own dance school while she continued
to choreograph and dance professionally.
In
1974 Pamela immigrated to Canada with her young family
where she opened her own studio and helped to develop
the growth of the ISTD Modern work. She also taught
dance at the University of Western Ontario for 14 years.
Then
came 7 years in Sydney, Australia, heading the Dance
Stream of McDonald College and continuing to develop
ISTD work in the South Pacific region. She also became
involved in the Dance syllabus of the Higher School
Certificate in New South Wales and was appointed a senior
marker of the examinations.
Currently
Pamela travels extensively, teaching and examining for
the International department of the ISTD. Her book,
Zelia Raye and the development of Modern Theatre Dance,
has recently been published and is now available from
the ISTD.
