Tap Dance Faculty

Due to the
success and size of the Modern Theatre Dance Faculty of the ISTD
the decision has been taken to re-structure the administration of
the Faculty into two separate subject areas; Modern and Tap.
The new Tap
Dance Faculty took effect from 18th January 2002 and subsequently
the new committee elected Paddy Hurlings as Chairman and Deborah
Capon as Vice Chairman. The remaining members of the committee are
Patricia Ellis and Joy Spriggs. Over the next year new members will
be put forward for appointment by Council to reach the committee
number of nine persons.
The development
of the new committee will not affect the constitution of the current
examination board or examination procedure. Teachers can still continue
to have mixed examination days of Modern and Tap and for the time
being Caroline Lavelle remains as secretary to both committees.
Toni Ketterer, who is at the moment working with Caroline Lavelle,
will eventually take over as the Modern Theatre Faculty Secretary
and Caroline will become the official Secretary for the new Tap
Dance Faculty.
