Theatre
and Dance Sport Faculties
Teaching Qualifications
Please note: Teachers outside of Europe
are still able to take Associate and Associate
Diploma (Theatre only) examinations. Theatre teachers,
please contact Tracey
Eames for an updated copy of the guidelines
for the faculty in question.
European
Teachers, who are intending on entering candidates
for examinations in the future, need to complete
an Accredited Prior Learning form (APL). Each
application is assessed on an individual basis
and the teacher will be informed of the outcome.
If you are informed that you need to attend courses
for various units, please be aware that APL courses
are only on offer in the UK at the moment. It
is anticipated that these courses could be offered
in other European countries in the future but
only when there is a sufficient number of teachers
that require the course.
Teaching
qualifications can only be delivered within an
ISTD Approved Dance Centre. If you wish to find

Theatre
Faculties only
Any changes that take place, within any of the
Theatre Faculties, will affect all teachers and
candidates worldwide.
Report
forms
As from 1st October 2004 report forms from examinations
outside of the UK, are being returned to ISTD
HQ and are checked by the Customer Services and
Quality Assurance Department.
Report
forms will be mailed to Teacher 1 as quickly as
possible. The address that teachers supply when
submitting their timetable for entry is the address
to which report forms are mailed. Therefore, please
write clearly and include postal codes to ensure
delays are kept to a minimum.

Replacement certificates
No replacement certificates can be produced for
examinations taken before 1st September 2001,
which is the last time the format of certificates
changed. Certificates must be printed on the actual
certificate that was present at that time and
stocks of old certificates are no longer kept
at ISTD HQ.
Teachers
must check their certificates are correct as soon
as they receive them. Teacher one will also receive
an Official result sheet which shows all candidates
taking examinations on that day, along with their
PIN numbers and the results obtained. All successful
candidates will receive a certificate or a medal.
If any information is not correct, Teacher one
must complete the Amendment form within the certificate
pack and return to ISTD HQ. If no form was included
please contact Kayleigh
within the International Examinations Department.

Change to Imperial
Ballet set allocation
Please be aware that there is a change to the
set allocation for Imperial Ballet Vocational
examinations. Candidates for all Imperial Ballet
Vocational examinations can be entered singly
or in pairs. A set of 3 is no longer acceptable.

Category B
Please be aware that from 1st September 2004,
Category B has been replaced. No candidates around
the world will be able to enter as a Category
B candidate and this ruling applies to all Theatre
Vocational examinations. However, if any teacher
feels a candidate requires special arrangements,
either because of a disability or because they
are an older candidate for example, they should
contact the Customer
Services and Quality Assurance Department
for further information or download the form from

Special Arrangement
Candidates
Teachers should be aware that any candidate who
has been granted special arrangements for an Imperial
Ballet or Cecchetti examination must be entered
singly. Under no circumstances can they be entered
with other candidates. If you require further
information on this please contact the Customer
Services and Quality Assurance Department.
