Vocational Graded Examinations in Dance

Theatre Faculties (UK and International)

Please note that the Vocational Graded Examinations:

• Intermediate Foundation
• Intermediate
• Advanced 1
• Advanced 2

have now been re-accredited by the QCA until 2009.

As part of the re-accreditation, some changes have been made as follows for examinations after 1st September 2004.

Vocational Grades Marking Scheme
As previously, the examination is divided into units and each unit is composed of several components, which are separately assessed and aggregated to give the unit total.

However, from 1st September 2004, candidates will be unsuccessful if:

1. 20% or below of the marks attainable are given for any one component
2. 40% or below of the marks attainable
are given for any three components

This reflects the need to ensure competence across a wide range of components.

Category A and Category B
Candidates who would have previously applied for Category B should now apply for Special Arrangements for Entry. Please contact the Customer Services and Quality Assurance Department for the appropriate form each time the candidates are entered.

To download the Application for Special Arrangement form click here>>

This applies to anyone whose ability is affected for whatever reason, be
it a mature candidate or one who has a registered disability, for example. The individual needs are assessed and special arrangements put in place
if appropriate.
