| Maureen
attended a full time student’s course at
the Jean Frecker School of Dancing and Dramatic
Art, Epsom, Surrey. During this time she successfully
passed the Associate examinations in Classical
Greek Dance, National Dance, Imperial Ballet,
Modern Theatre, Tap and Modern Ballroom. She has
since gone on to achieve Licentiate Diploma status
in Imperial Ballet, Fellowship status in Classical
Greek Dance and National, and has passed the Royal
Academy of Dance Teacher’s Certificate and
Diploma.
She
currently owns and teaches at her own school,
The Maureen Jeffery School of Dance, Southport,
an Approved Dance Centre. Maureen enjoys guest
teaching at other dance schools and summer schools.
Former teaching positions include those at Bellairs
Studio of Dance and Drama, Guildford, Merseyside
Dance and Drama Centre and The Dorothy Stevens
School of Ballet and Theatre Dance in Halifax.
Maureen’s
love of Classical Greek Dance grew whist dancing
with the Classical Greek Theatre Group.

| Andrew
was born in Dublin and trained with Jill Wigham,
Doreen Bird School of Performing Arts, Kent and
The Royal Ballet School, London, where he represented
the school at the 1984 Prix de Lausanne. He was
a member of Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet,
promoted to coryphée in 1989 and to soloist
of the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1991.
His
principal/soloist roles include leads in Elite
Syncopations and Danses Concertantes (MacMillan),
Giselle and The Nutcracker (Wright), Theme and
Variations (Balanchine), Jazz Calendar and Façade
(Ashton), Brahms’ Handel Variations and
Mobson’s Choice (Bintley). He has also danced
in other works by de Valois, Massine, Van Manen,
De Mille and Joos.
In
1995 Andrew gained distinction in the Professional
Dancer’s Teaching Course at the Royal Academy
of Dance and was Head of Boys Ballet at Elmhurst.
He joined the staff of Bird College in September
2000 and is a senior ballet tutor.He is also company
manager for Bird Theatre Company.
He
has guest taught at The Hungarian Dance Academy,
Budapest, Scapino Ballet, Rotterdam and regularly
teaches for the RAD and ISTD both in England and
abroad, where he is also a registered teacher.
