Patricia Prime – a thank you

I am pleased to have been asked to write a short appreciation of Patricia Prime on the occasion of her retirement as Vice Chairman of Council and Chairman of the Theatre Faculties Board.

A gracious lady, Pat is the epitome of a true servant of the ISTD, ceaselessly working to further the interest of the society. Her experience, knowledge and dedication marked her as a natural to hold a position of responsibility.

Pat has strongly held views and was single-minded in pursuit of what she wanted to achieve, although she was always open to be swayed by reasoned argument; the hallmark of a good manager.

For this respected lady, this retirement is by no means her swansong. Patricia Prime will continue as Chairman of the Imperial Classical Ballet Faculty Committee and as such remains a valued member of the Theatre Faculties Board.

There is no doubt that she has served the Society with distinction for a number of years, for which we are all very grateful.

For myself, I am both flattered and honoured that my colleagues have elected me to succeed Pat as Chairman of the Theatre Faculty Board. I have no illusions about the magnitude of the job or the responsibility that I know I shoulder.

May you all enjoy success in 2007 and the coming years.
