Chief Executive to leave ISTD

11 March 2011

Julian Amey to leave as Chief Executive from 1st April 2011.

Since joining the ISTD two years ago, Julian Amey, has helped to raise the national and international profile of the Society and has worked with the Executive Team and the ISTD Council in conducting a Strategic Review of the organisation.

That review is now completed and has resulted in a 5-year business plan to take the Society forward into the next phase of its development. Julian has therefore decided that now is the right time for him to move on.

He will be leaving the ISTD on 1st April and we wish him well as he pursues a new role undertaking a range of international education and arts projects.

Julian will be replaced by an interim management team, specifically drawn from very experienced members of the ISTD, who are dedicated to further strengthening the business and membership of ISTD throughout the world. Working closely with the Executive Team, the Faculties and the Council, this team will guide the next stages of development and create new opportunities for the ISTD.

I am delighted to announce that the interim management team will comprise Paddy Hurlings, Chairman of the Theatre Faculties, Nicky Miles, Chairman of Club Dance within the Dance Sport Faculties and myself. We shall commence on Monday, 4th April.

Peter Kyle, OBE, CCMI
ISTD Chairman
