We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ginny Brown as Artistic Director to lead the Society’s artistic vision and future development

The ISTD is delighted to announce the appointment of Ginny Brown to the post of Artistic Director. Ginny was formerly the Society’s Head of Education & Training and brings to this position a wealth of experience in dance education spanning the private, vocational, professional and funded dance sectors.

As Artistic Director, Ginny Brown will guide the ISTD’s future development as a leader in dance education and training. In particular, supporting the Society’s 11 Faculties to ensure effective future syllabus development and building national and international creative and business partnerships.

 

Sue Passmore, ISTD Chair added:

Since joining the ISTD, Ginny Brown has been responsible for initiating the Theatre Bursary Awards, to celebrate and support talented young ISTD dancers, and a promotional scheme to recognise the professional standards of ISTD members. She has also undertaken a review of the ISTD’s teaching qualifications, to ensure they remain abreast of industry standards. In a voluntary capacity Ginny is a member of the One Dance UK Children and Young People’s Expert Panel and previously served as Vice-Chair of the National Dance Teachers Association.
