English National Ballet company member, Laurretta Summerscales, has won the Gold Medal in the female category at the 2013 Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition.

This year saw the second biannual competition and was held at NCPA in Beijing from 5th to 15th July.

Classical Ballet applicants are between 17-26 years old and the competition’s aim is to pick out promising ballet dancers and choreographers and to further promote international exchanges.
