Jackie initially trained at the Gillian Far School of Dance under the expert guidance of Sue Stephens, later attending Performers Dance College in it’s first year of opening.
As a professional dancer, she worked extensively in Europe and America with many top choreographers; appearing in numerous television productions, summer seasons, musicals, cruise liner shows and pantomimes. Notable amongst her many performances were the VE Day Celebration Concerts in Hyde Park in the presence of the HM The Queen, working with such stars as Dame Vera Lynn and Sir Cliff Richard.
Since devoting her time to teaching, she has taught extensively throughout the southeast in vocational dance schools and colleges; specialising in Modern Theatre and Tap dance. Jackie attained Fellowship status and is an examiner for both faculties.
She is currently the DDI co-ordinator at Performers College. In her role as Head of Teacher Training at Anthony Clifford Studios and Hildale Academy of Performing Arts, she tutors students in both DDI and DDE Modern and Tap, as well as guiding them through the supervised teaching assessment unit.
She recently completed a post-graduate Certificate in Education in the post-compulsory sector at the Institute of Education, London, where her experience helped her specialise and focus on the training of dance teachers.
Jackie enjoys being on the teaching team for both the Modern Theatre and Tap faculties and is proud to have become a member of the Modern Theatre committee.
