Syllabus Clarification
1.
Examiner will set 3 bars of rhythm with the 4th bar being
a tacit. Only whole bars of notes will be used.
2.
The note values are 1/4, 1/2 accented and even 1/8th notes
and 1/2th notes which will start on the
‘and’. One missed beat may be used and the examiner
may repeat this bar.
3.
Candidates will clap the rhythm all together then one at a
time to the examiners choice of set music.
4.
Candidates will then be given time to arrange the footwork
to match the rhythm, replacing the tacit with
free, improvised footwork.
5.
The candidates will practise all together with the music and
will then be asked to dance their arrangement one at a time.
Grade
6 - Time steps
Shuffle time steps - 100 with Single, Double, Triple and breaks.
1/2 breaks may be used and the time steps can start on 8 or
1.
They
can be seen straight to the front or turned from diagonal
to diagonal and the dancer can tacit. No pick up time steps
are required.
Advanced
1 - Time Steps
Shuffle time steps only, with pick up on one foot or pick
up change and a change of rhythm which could include syncopation.
