Davies Tap Awards 2005
In
November of last year the Tap Dance Faculty were pleased to
welcome a record entry of young dancers to the Tap Awards
at Mile End, East London.
The 2005 competition was approached with a little apprehension
on two counts, a new venue and a modified format. The success
of the day proved that any unease felt before the day was
totally unfounded.
It was pleasing to see that many schools who have supported
the competition for many years were in evidence and the faculty
was also encouraged to note the appearance of many new names
amongst the list of entries.
What can be said of the competitors? Each dancer was a credit
to their teacher and school and it was quite obvious that
a lot of hard work had gone into producing a high standard
of both performance and choreography.

It was very much appreciated that so many guests had taken
the time to support this event and needless to say it was
a joy to welcome Miss Daphne Peterson and Mrs Murielle Ashcroft
to Queen Mary and Westfield College.
