Maureen’s
death will leave a large gap that is hard to fill. The
committee treated her as a friend, who was always loyal
and generous with her help and support. She will be
remembered with love and affection.

On
behalf of the south coast region I would like to pay tribute
to Maureen Harvey who died on the 5th March.
Since its reconstitution, Maureen has acted as Regional Secretary,
giving of her time most generously. Never one to seek the
limelight she worked quietly and conscientiously in support
of the committee, to ensure that the needs of the local Imperial
teachers were satisfied and that the interests of the Society
were promoted.
Additionally
she was very active as an Examiner for both the Modern Theatre
and Tap Faculties.
A
very professional teacher, there are many within the region
who have been inspired by her to reach objectives they thought
they would never attain.
On a personal note, I had known Maureen for many years and
will always remember her with gratitude and affection.

I
first knew Maureen as a bright, lively child with the most
beautiful flaxen hair.
Teaching
her was always interesting as she soaked up information like
a sponge. I knew her as a pupil, student and a very dearly
beloved friend. She became known within the ISTD not only
as a well liked and very fair examiner but also to the vast
number of students and teachers who flocked to her for training
and information which was so willingly given with enthusiasm,
energy and genuine love both for the actual dance and the
person involved.
She
was never afraid to speak her mind and remained true to her
convictions. I will constantly miss you Maureen and always
remember your ‘special’ laughter.
