Bronze, Silver and Gold Tap Awards
In order to help teachers run their classes and exams effectively, the faculty has lifted all age restriction on these exams. It will no longer be necessary to take the Bronze before entering for Silver, nor Silver before entering Gold.
Teachers are reminded that the old Primary and Grade 1 syllabus is no longer examined.
The new Grades 2 and 3 may be entered from September 2010 and will become compulsory from September 2011. The content of all the status exams will change at the same time, as these syllabi will be integrated (FDI, CDE, Licentiate and Fellowship).
Grade 4 and 5 Music
Teachers may mix and match the two official Grade 4 and 5 CD music tracks for these examinations. If you choose to mix the music, please ensure the CD or iPod you use has the correct running order and there is sufficient music for all the candidates.
Courses
Teachers should be aware that beat sticks are needed on the courses for the new Grade 3 Amalgamations.
Syllabus Notes
The complete Tap syllabus notes for Primary G1, G2, & G3 are available from the shop at ISTD HQ in one publication. If you have your purple front cover from the original Primary/Grade 1 book, you may send it into the shop and exchange for the new completed book for £2.50. The CD is also available, costing £17.50. The syllabus book is priced at £12.50. |
