These one day courses offer a continuous professional
development package for dance teachers delivered by
key researchers and specialists in the field. These
courses are not only relevant to all APL candidates
who are required to complete APL refresher courses,
but also dance teachers who wish to develop their knowledge.
If
you would like to book a place on any of the courses,
please contact Education and Training by email on edugeneralassistant@istd.org
for an APL course booking form and return it, along
with full payment, to the Education and Training Department
at ISTD HQ. If you are an APL candidate before attending
any APL course, please ensure you have completed the
Certificate in Dance Education (CDE) Registration Form,
available from
tmassistant@istd.org.
All
ISTD members and non-members will now be asked to fill
in an Attendance Record so that a Certificate of Attendance
can be sent to them. Remember you should always pre-book
these courses to avoid disappointment and ensure you
are notified of any changes.
Details
are correct at the time they are published. However,
unforeseen circumstances may cause venue, time and date
to change. Please ensure all bookings are made at least
three weeks prior to the course to ensure your place.

Professional Development
The ISTD offers one-day continuous professional development
courses for dance teachers, which are delivered by key
researchers and specialists in the field, as part of
our commitment to maintain and improve teaching standards.
These CPD courses can be attended by all and are split
into two categories: the Promotion of Health and Safety
in Dance, and Lifespan Development and Learning in Dance.
The lectures run from 10.30am to 4.30pm and are a fantastic
opportunity to underpin your knowledge of dance through
related contextual studies.
