Natalie
Garrett began her dancing career with the ISTD taking
weekly classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern from the
ages of 5 to 16. She then went on to study dance
at the Laban Centre of Movement and Dance in London
obtaining a BA and MA. Following this, Natalie completed
a one year training at the London Contemporary Dance
School before embarking on PhD research at the University
of Surrey Roehampton. Natalie is currently writing
her thesis on choreography. |
In
1996 Natalie co-founded Watt Dance Collective. Since
this time she has performed and choreographed for the
collective performing at dance venues such as The Place
Dance Theatre, Chisenhale Dance Space, Michaelis Dance
Theatre, Jackson’s Lane, Islington Arts Factory
and Chats Art Factory.
Natalie
has taught dance within a variety of contexts including
the University of Surrey, Roehampton, Laban, London
Studio Centre and Random Dance Company. She has also
published several dance articles for publications such
as Dance UK News and Dance Theatre Journal. |
