League
Tables in England
The school League Table system is a means of charting
GCSE, A-level and equivalent qualifications in secondary
schools and colleges. These tables, published yearly,
are often used by parents or guardians to decide which
school they would like their child to attend.
Until recently the tables only took account of subjects
studied within the school. However, due to new guidelines,
children who undertake ISTD graded and vocationally
graded examinations are now able to have their achievements
recognised under this system.
The recognition of dance examinations within League
Tables is a step forward in many ways. It supports pupils
who do not favour academic subjects and provides a platform
for private dance teachers to build stronger relationships
with their local schools. This can be particularly helpful
when marketing after school clubs, requiring students
to be taken out of school for examinations etc.
In order for your student’s successes to be credited
you simply need to inform the school of their success.

and Curriculum Authority (QCA) please contact the Professional
Development Officer.
