Conditions for the Certificate in Dance Education (CDE)
The Theatre and Dancesport Faculties’ Boards have
agreed that, as of 1st September 2009, the entry criteria
for the Certificate in Dance Education (CDE) will no
longer require candidates to have achieved an Advanced
1 qualification in the genre in which they are registering.
The entry conditions as of 1st September 2009 will therefore
be as follows:
Foundation in Dance Instruction (FDI):
•
candidates must be 17 years of age before the end of
the academic year in which they register, and
• hold the Intermediate examination of the ISTD
or other Ofqual-approved awarding body (BBO, BTDA, RAD)
in the genre in which they register.
Certificate in Dance Education (CDE):
• candidates must be 18 years of age before the
end of the academic year in which they register, and
• hold the Foundation in Dance Instruction (FDI)
in the genre in which they register.
