Associate
(minimum age 18)
On passing the Associate, the candidate should
enrol as a member of the ISTD if they have not
already done so, and they can apply for provisional
registration which lasts for three years if they
wish to enter candidates for examinations. During
the three years, teachers will be expected to
attend courses on syllabus and non-syllabus related
subjects, details of which are published in a
separate prospectus obtainable from Headquarters.
Associate
Diploma (minimum age 21)
Once the teacher has passed the Associate and
has fulfilled the requirements of the three year
teaching programme, they can apply to take the
Associate Diploma. This consists of a teaching
assessment class during which they will be tested
on their knowledge of the syllabus as well as
their teaching ability. If they pass, they will
be given full registration.
Licentiate
(minimum age 23)
If the teacher has passed the Associate Diploma and has been teaching
for five years, they can take the Licentiate. Licentiate Diploma
If the teacher has passed the Licentiate examination and wishes
to proceed to Fellowship they have to take the History and Anatomy
papers.

(minimum age 28)
If the teacher has been teaching for at least
eight years, has passed their Licentiate and has
a Licentiate Diploma, they can take the Fellowship
examination.
