Teachers and dancers from around the globe are invited to enter their creative work into our first online choreography competition; CREATION

Following on from the hugely popular West End Repertoire Competition last year, the Modern Theatre Faculty committee wanted to offer all teachers and their dancers across the globe the chance to flex their choreographic muscles within the Modern Theatre genre, reflecting the work that teachers and dancers have been producing, especially since COVID-19.

Doreen Bird was Founder and Principal of Bird College, a Fellow and Senior Society examiner and co-created some of our original vocational syllabi. She was a mentor and role model to many of our current examiners as well as 100s of dancers, choreographers and teachers working within the creative industries today. The Modern Theatre Faculty Committee devised ‘CREATION’ in 2007 in her memory and to foster creativity in our young choreographers of the future.

CREATION has been developed as an online event for 2021 and will be a chance for us to see the breadth of choreographic talent in our teachers and dancers whether this is as a solo, duet, trio, or group within the modern styles.

Solo Winners may be eligible to take part in the Society's Theatre Bursary Awards.

Please ensure you read the guidelines and our Terms & Conditions (below) before entering students.
