We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Kundi ‘First Artist’ and Emilia Cadorin ‘Artist’ both of English National Ballet to lead this demonstration of stage make up application.

Course Details

As COVID restrictions begin to shift, we are beginning once again to think of stage performances and competitions.

Stage make-up is rarely taught in depth or detail and we hope you / your students will find this demonstration class, which can be joined-in with at home, informative, beneficial, and motivational! 

Sarah Kundi ‘First Artist’ and Emilia Cadorin ‘Artist’ both of English National Ballet will demonstrate how they apply their own make-up for the stage. 

You can simply watch or choose to join in at home and apply your makeup along-side the professionals.

In order to make the masterclass available to our International members who may be in different time zones, two types of ticket are available. You may choose to either buy a ticket for the live webinar or buy a ticket for a recording of the webinar, which will be released for a limited period of approximately 7 days following the event. (If you wish to have access to both the live webinar and the recorded event, you will need to purchase two tickets accordingly).

The following are make-up items you may want to prepare in advance of the session if you wish to follow along. 

Essential make-up list:

  • Foundation (liquid or powder)
  • Highlighter
  • Blusher
  • Eyeshadow (neutrals/browns)
  • Eyeliner (liquid or pencil)
  • Eyebrow pencil (can use same as eye liner if pencil)
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick (any red will do)
  • Any sponges and brushes for application.

Desirable make-up list:

  • Primers (face and eyelash)
  • False eyelashes (with glue)
  • Lip liner (any red darker the better)
  • Contour shades
  • Oil (to de-clog mascara)

Meet the Lecturers

Sarah Kundi

Sarah undertook her professional training at Central School of Ballet, and upon graduation pursued her first job at Northern Ballet. She then went on to dance with Ballet Black and is now a First Artist with English National Ballet. 

She was nominated for a Critic's Circle National Dance Award for Outstanding Female Performance in the Classical sector in 2010, for Will Tuckett's Depouillement with Ballet Black.

Repertoire with English National Ballet include 'Myrtha' in Akram Khan's Giselle, 'Stepmother Hortensia' in Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella, Pina Bausch's Sacre du Printemps (Rite of Spring), William Forsythe's In the Middle Somewhat Elevated & Approximate Sonata, 'Carabosse' in Sleeping Beauty, and 'Madge' in La Sylphide.

She won the 'Corps de Ballet Award' on behalf of English National Ballet in 2017.

Sarah has a huge passion for teaching, and she is affiliated with the engagement team at ENB, where she undertakes many workshops and outside projects.


Emilia Cadorin

Emilia Cadorin was born in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy, where she began her ballet training. At the age of 17 she was offered a position as a trainee with Boston Ballet, where she stayed for two years. 

Emilia joined English National Ballet in 2015 and in 2019 was a finalist in the Emerging Dancer Competition. Prior to joining ENB she worked with other ballet companies such as Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Estonian National Ballet and Theatre du Capitole, Toulouse.
