  5. Faculty elections 2022

2 September 2022

This year’s faculty committee elections involved the Latin American, National Dance, and Imperial Classical Ballet faculties.

  • The National Dance Faculty Committee ordinarily has five positions and as there were six candidates, there was an election. This election featured a rare occurrence whereby two candidates tied for fifth position. As both candidates secured a significant number of votes (more than ten per cent each of the votes cast), the Head of Faculty took the decision to increase the size of the committee to six for the duration of the next term, rather than to eliminate one of the two candidates by arbitrary means.

Anuschka Roes, Barbara Simons, Cathi Conroy-Jones, Heather Burns and Jayne Wing were re-elected to the Committee; Tanya Allen was also elected and will serve on the Committee for her first term.

  • The Imperial Classical Ballet Committee has seven positions and as there were ten candidates, there was an election.

Ruth Davies, Irela Strachan, Jackie Styles, Lorraine Swain and Tracey Warner were re-elected to the Committee; James Butcher and Donald Vleugels were also elected and will serve on the Committee for their first term.

We would like to thank all the candidates who allowed their names to be put forward for election this year, their proposers, seconders and other supporters, and all the members who voted in this year’s election.

We would especially like to thank the outgoing committee members for their invaluable and generous contributions to the ongoing work of the faculties.
