The ISTD offers a myriad of courses for members and non-members to support their professional development. These range from genre specific refresher days to residential summer schools to one day courses focussing on the promotion of safe dance practice and the psychological aspects of talent development.

The Education & Training Department also offer training for Tutors working on the accredited teaching qualifications programme as well as masterclasses for students, dancers, in conjunction with faculties, and training for members of the public to introduce them to the world of dance. Choreographic Competitions
For Solos, Duets and Groups in three different age groups and teachers

Teachers are invited to apply on behalf of their pupils to the Faculty Secretary for rules and entry forms for this event.

The Choreographic Competitions will take place in the morning and followed by the Elizabeth Baines Hewitt Award class in the afternoon. 


Baines Hewitt Award

A discretionary prize of £1,000 may be awarded to a Ballet student who has been accepted by or who is already studying on an accredited Classical Ballet course at one of the following schools

The Royal Ballet School

Central School of Ballet

Elmhurst School for Dance

English National Ballet School

Northern Ballet School

Rambert School of Ballet

London Studio Centre

Tring Park School for Performing Arts

and other establishments of International repute

Candidates must hold the Intermediate Certificate or higher of the Imperial Classical Ballet Faculty

Age Limits
Minimum age limit for entry is 15 years on 1st September 2012

The candidates will be required to take part in a class at Advanced 1 level but are not required to show a dance.  Previous winners of this award are not eligible to compete
