Italian Summer School 2013 - Sportilia (060)

The ISTD offers a myriad of courses for members and non-members to support their professional development. These range from genre specific refresher days to residential summer schools to one day courses focussing on the promotion of safe dance practice and the psychological aspects of talent development.

The Education & Training Department also offer training for Tutors working on the accredited teaching qualifications programme as well as masterclasses for students, dancers, in conjunction with faculties, and training for members of the public to introduce them to the world of dance. Event details:

Heats 

Juniors: 8 years and under 12 years on 1st September 2013. Must have passed ISTD Grade 3 or 4 Modern and no higher. 

Seniors: 11 years and under 15 years on 1st September 2013. Must have passed ISTD Grade 4, 5 or 6 and no higher. 

Premier: 13 years and under 17 years on 1st September 2013. Must have passed ISTD Grade 6, Inter Foundation or Intermediate and no higher. 

Schools will be allowed to enter six pupils (this is to include branches’ and assistants’ pupils) 


South Western Heats - Sunday 4th May

Class Content for the Regional Heats 

Junior Class: will dance the Grade 3 set Warm-Up, a free floor sequence and Combination Steps A & B (prepared on both sides with split run) from Grade 3.

The Set Amalgamations are: Girls – Grade 3 Jazz, Boys – The Search. Each entrant will then dance their prepared solo – no longer than 1:30 minutes. 

Senior Class: will dance the Grade 5 set Warm-Up, a free floor sequence, Grade 5 ‘Sequence of Walks’ to free music and a basic split run sequence. 

The Set Amalgamations are: Girls – Grade 5 Jazz, Boys – The Tip Off. Each entrant will then dance their prepared solo – no longer than 1:30 minutes.

Premier Class: will dance a free Warm-Up, the set Floor Sequence from  Grade 6 (or the Boys’ equivalent), and a free travelling step. 

The Set Amalgamations are: Girls – Intermediate Jazz, Boys – Intermediate Boys’ Jazz.  Each entrant will then dance their prepared solo – no longer than 2.00 minutes.
