Don't miss out on this day of training and networking in Scotland, revising essential Modern Theatre technique and syllabus ideas.
This is a course newly developed by our Modern Theatre lead lecturer Tereza Theodoulou.
Sunday 11 June, 10:00 - 17:00 (6 CPD hours)
Modern Theatre – Revision of building blocks established in lower grades and developed through the vocational and teaching qualifications
Lecturer: Gwen Stevenson
On this course you will examine how the intent and purpose of the Modern Theatre syllabus is established in the lower grades. Revising the Primary, Grade 1 and Grade 2 syllabi will highlight the building blocks for teaching technique, rhythm and musicality, line & style and dance movements.
This course encourages us to reconsider the way we have been teaching, whether for a few or for many years and will ultimately give us the tools to recognise how these concepts, established at the very beginning of every pupil’s journey, follows a natural path of development through the grades up to vocational levels.
This course is essential for anyone preparing candidates for all Modern Theatre exams, students or tutors working on or delivering DDE, Associate, Associate Diploma. The revision of the earlier grades establishes the foundations necessary for preparing pupils for the new floor sequences in Grades 4 and 5 which we will be offering soon.
