Join the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Rep Fleur Stevenson and lead lecturer Alison Forrester for a day of Tap Dance training.
Sunday 28 January, 10:00 - 17:00 (6 CPD hours)
Tap Dance - Bridging the gap – Developing the vocab from Intermediate
Lecturer: Alison Forrester
This course explores moving the technical work of Intermediate forwards. What training exercises and arrangements can be used to connect the dots? Explore the concepts that underpin the existing Intermediate syllabus and the technical ideas that can take students forward. This course is essential for anyone teaching the Intermediate and/or the Advanced syllabus, as well as tutors working on or delivering DDE, Associate or Associate Diploma. It is also strongly recommended for Licentiate and Fellowship candidates.
On this course you will:
- Discuss some of the existing Intermediate drills and training exercises that can technically develop them further.
- Learn choreographed examples of exercises using fundamental Tap vocabulary, to produce more advanced combinations.
- Learn choreographed settings of various Time Step ideas that develop rhythm, travelling and close work.
- Discuss about ideas and learning sequences for teaching and communicating rhythm beyond Intermediate.
