For non-Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing qualified teachers who are actively teaching dance and entering students for exams.
Who can become a Affiliate Member?
If you can demonstrate at least two years of regular dance teaching at pre-vocational and/or vocational level in dance schools or colleges, centres for advanced training, secondary schools or colleges, universities or youth dance companies.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Applicants must hold a teaching qualification with an awarding body which is CDMT approved.
If the teaching qualification is from a non-regulated awarding body it will be assessed on a case by case basis
Teachers with a relevant BA may only have a unit or two from their training which is aligned to teaching practice an therefore would not be sufficient.
For Classical Indian Dancing, application will not have a regulated qualification so applications must state who they were taught by and be able to evidence said teaching. this will be assessed for approval by the relevant Faculty board.

Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year but you can join us at any time throughout the year. Please note there is a one off enrolment fee payment of £10 per application.
