British Dance Council Inventive Dance Competition

18 June 2020

The British Dance Council in association with Martin Bird and Brockbank Lane present the 2020 online event.

The British Dance Council are keen to continue promoting sequence dancing during this difficult time for the dancing community and are running a three branch inventive competition.

  1. Classical Sequence: A 16 bar dance of a rhythm with the 5 foot positions (e.g. Waltz, Two Step, Gavotte). Suitable for an Intermediate / Social level competitor.
  2. Modern Sequence: A 16 bar ballroom dance.
  3. Latin Sequence: A 16 bar latin dance. Kindly sponsored by Brockbank Lane.
The 1st place winner of each competition will be awarded a prize of £125.00

The competitions will be judged by at least five BDC licensed adjudicators from video demonstrations of the dances - All dances in each section will be demonstrated by the same couple. Adjudicators will not know the inventors names until the completion of the event.

This is a special online competition open to any qualified professional holding an active membership in classical sequence, latin or ballroom with a recognised dance association.
