CALL OUT FOR CLASSICAL INDIAN DANCE PERFORMERS

4 June 2018

The ISTD's Classical Indian Dance Faculty is looking for Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancers undergoing ISTD training, aged 11 - 18 to enter for the 2018/19 Bursary Awards.

In line with the increasing opportunities for young dancers, the ISTD is proud to be able to offer another opportunity to compete, perform, and be mentored. The Classical Indian Dance Faculty are calling out for Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancers undergoing ISTD training, aged 11 - 18 to enter the selection process.

The ISTD Bursary Awards is a prestigious dance platform where dancers from all theatre genres across ISTD compete on a national stage. Two talented young dancers from the Classical Indian Dance genre will perform for and receive feedback from leading members of the dance profession. If winners, the dancers and their teachers can receive significant financial bursaries towards future training and professional development. This year the Classical Indian Faculty is excited to announce that dancers selected to perform at the ISTD Bursary Awards, and their respective teachers, will also benefit from a tailored mentoring programme in the run up to the main event.

To apply, please complete an online application form including an uploaded video by Saturday 30th June 2018. The CID committee will watch all videos and invite selected applicants to an audition day in mid-September (Date TBC). Two applicants from this Selection Day will then be selected to perform at the ISTD Bursary Awards and receive mentoring from industry leaders.
