GREATLY MISSED BUT FOREVER REMEMBERED - Tributes to Liz Burville
4 January 2018
We are sad to report the passing of Liz Burville founder and Principal of the Liz Burville Performing Arts in Bexley Kent, and ISTD examiner.
From Chairman of the Tap Committee
Liz Burville sadly passed away on 01/01/2018.
A highly respected examiner for the Modern Theatre Faculty, both Tap and Modern, Liz was a beautiful, intelligent and very talented lady. A ‘Triple Threat’ performer in many Musicals, Pantomimes & films, Liz was Principal of her own Dance School in Bexley for over 30 years. An inspiring teacher she touched the hearts of so many young people and shaped their adult lives. Alongside her teaching, Liz was also a Producer and Choreographer for many successful shows and enterprises. Her students gained amazing and varied experiences in Liz’s Dance School Productions. They are all a testimony to her passion, determination, positivity, and enthusiasm which motivated her. They are passing on the skills they learned through all her attributes, which also included humour and a very large heart.

Those of us who knew Liz will feel the greatest of sorrow at her passing.
I have been a friend of Liz and Stuart for at least 23 years. Over that time, our families have spent many happy days together at our holiday homes in Spain and my birthday celebrations this year will not be the same without her.
Liz was a most talented teacher, Choreographer and Examiner who, during her three year battle with cancer, never stopped looking ahead and planning for the future of both her school and, more importantly, times she hoped still to share with her family, Stuart, Emily and Robert. I never failed to marvel at her positivity and courage in fighting her illness and how she remained so cheerful in the face of adversity and whilst often in discomfort, for the sake of her family and friends.
Liz loved what she did, and all those who had the privilege to be taught by her or who have worked with her, will never forget the impact she had on them. In the same way, the contribution she made to the ISTD and to the arts, in general, should never be forgotten.
I have not only said goodbye to a fellow colleague but to a friend and I will remember her blessed spirit always.
